They're not anxiety attacks! It's practically the opposite. I mean if they make the opposite of anti-anxiety pills, then I need them too.

[ Even telling Chilton outright that he was an equal while Harvey was a toy still had him questioning her relationship with Harvey Dent. And if Chilton felt so threatened by him, perhaps it was time to get closer to the man and find out why. Compulsion-ridden, fatalistic, audio hallucinatory schizophrenic. She absolutely couldn't wait to bring those things out of him. ]

Alright. [ She said, softly; exhausted. There was the sound of a bag being opened and some rustling going on as well. Packing a few of her things for the extended stay. ]

Do you still want the soy latte? Without the side of passive aggression, that is.

[ Not going to just let that slide. It still irked her that he talked to her that way. ]

I don't need any kind of additional stimulation, mental or otherwise. This is just testing something out. Kind of a one off deal.

You seemed like the kinda guy who could help me out, but maybe I was wrong.

To be heroes. Right. That always works so well.

Sure, but isn't that what we all do anyway? Humans remake every world. And not everyone appreciates it.

Just like here. We coexist, and not always happily.

Our "acceleration." Great, give people abilities, tell them to save the world, and instead watch them destroy it. Abuse it. Do anything but actually find a way to help other people. And that's only if they manage to make it through with any of their sanity in check.

But I don't think all of humanity is a negative impact, no.

[ Back to normal. Back to Chilton. The insecurity was gone, but most certainly not forgotten. Raina didn't quip back, but she did smile a little to herself. ]

Cute.

[ And that was all she said on the matter. ]

I need to finish packing a few necessities and then I can be out the door. I really hope your sedative works.

[ Should we action this? ]

[No, he hadn't, and that is reflected on his face. But since they're not snapping at each other like hungry dogs in battle over the last bit of chow, it's easier to let confusion, terror, concern out in a more muted manner. She hadn't thrown him into the ocean, but this is all still new and still somewhat horrifying. And not just because he can think of that invasion from Chilton's point in view; in general, that's not a cakewalk.]

Right. [The slow agreement of someone who didn't know, doesn't know what else to say or do other than nod and move along. Oh yeah, the Danger invasion, right.] I'll just keep that in mind while we're in here and [another glance at the corner, a hint of a smile] keep it to myself.

[He's such a good boy, isn't he? He can remove all evidence anyone was at what could be considered a crime scene and he can keep less grave secrets! Who wouldn't want a Will Graham of their own?]

[ It took Raina about forty-five minutes from the end of their conversation to actually arrive at Chilton's office. And she didn't look good. She was pale. The circles under her eyes were pronounced. She wasn't even wearing one of her typical flower dresses, having dressed in the all black hoodie and slacks she arrived in -- sipping her tea like it was a lifeline. ]

It's me. I'm coming in.

[ She balanced the drinks in one hand while she opened the door with the other, slipping into the room. Trembling fingers placed his latte down on the desk before him. ]

The I'm Sorry For Being Moody latte. With a gluten free Please Don't be Too Upset blueberry muffin.

[ Raina gave him a playfully scolding look at his comment, smiled and shook her head. ]

You could have just said thank you.

[ She backtracked to the sedan, sinking down onto it. ]

But you're welcome.

[ Her fingers laced on her lap. ]

If you don't mind, then yes. I would appreciate the sedation. Are you sure it's going to keep me from dreaming?

I don't want to be suspected of something like that! Shepard's got nothing to do with it.

Especially if it's a friend involved.

[ She looked back at him for a moment, hoping to catch a glimpse of what he was injecting into her -- to have an idea of what he was going to be using. But then his instruction came and she frowned.

Still. The prospect of sleep. Dreamless sleep left her in a state where she couldn't really argue. And if he wanted to play these little games of hide and seek, well, Raina had no choice but to play along.

It burned her a little, though.

But she did as told, closing her eyes and listening to him -- feeling his warm touch on her throat and leaning into it, receptive to his caresses and inviting him in for more. She was just about to ask what his tested, non-FDA approved sedative was exactly when she found out. The sedative burst into her system at once, catching her by surprise. And that surprise manifested itself underneath his fingers -- thorns bursting through the patch of skin he was touching, a thoughtless self defense that she didn't even mean to let happen. ]

You sneaky...

[ Her words trailed off in a slur. If he got pricked, it was his fault for not warning her. But she didn't even seem aware that it had happened, and as the fatigue seized a hold of her, the thorns faded back into her skin -- leaving it smooth once more. ]
Edited (omg this is the last time I'll touch it. I swear. Just got the idea when I was showering. :P) 2015-05-14 20:19 (UTC)
infomodder: there is not yet a word for this brand of "what the fuck even" (oh boy you've left me speechless)

[He's already started drawing comparisons—worrying, mostly. He's not sure if Chilton would like to believe that Will doesn't worry or if he truly believes it, but he does worry, and the uncomfortable shifting in his seat that ends with him crossing his legs in a very not Will Graham manner should give it away. He's doing everything he can to keep from saying it out loud, short of reaching and taking his coffee back. He can't help it, especially not after what had apparently gone on without him ever being aware of it. Chilton talked of ensuring they were kept safe, which was fine and all, but it worked to light a fire under Will's ass about how he'd clearly been negligent in his duties and needed to remedy that.]

Fine. [Said in a voice that didn't sound believable at all, but what could he use, within his connections, to spur interest? And therefore keep it away from others...like Sasha. Only one way to go.] I've been acting as a probation officer for Ken Kaneki. He's done very well with it, too. The government...

[provides bodies for him so he can consume flesh without having to find it on his own...that's too wordy, and doesn't get at the meat of it directly. The reason Will was on board with Ken, more than just their former status as housemates. He looks off at that room full of friends as his voice falls short, and steels himself by gripping the armrests again before he looks back at Chilton, nothing hidden, and cuts to the cahse:]

He's a cannibal. His biology makes it necessary.
