Teddy is gone. My mom hasn't acknowledged I'm here since she found out she is my mom.

Kate is gone. I have Loki, I guess. But mostly.

I woke up and Teddy is gone. And I really just want to. Go into the multiverse and find him.

Teddy is gone. He has returned back to your world, then, and you know what his life will become. It isn't a terrible life.

You are here in the meanwhile, yes. But he could return, Billy. Any of them could return. As long as they have something to return to.

I just want to go home. I want to go home but if I try that spell it could destabilize the whole multiverse, right? That would kill billions of people.

On the positive, though, I could stop hearing people talk about Crane.

Look, I am certainly with you on the Crane conversation. He has grown as trite as his usual monologues.

But you know as well as I do that guilt would latch onto your every waking thought, if something went wrong. And it only takes a second, doesn't it? Only a rogue moment.

Which is, frankly, concerning. And we cannot medicate you, for obvious reasons.

But this is a circumstantial depression, Billy, rather than purely chemical.

[Not that Billy didn't suffer from the chemical version.]

Difficult and uncomfortable as it may be, you will have to rely on your support system. Your friends. Until this passes.

You know, Kate asked me to stop seeing you.

That is not particularly reassuring.

I don't know. Kate's bossy. It's easier to go with it than it is to argue.

You don't think that such a bossy influence might have been not the best thing for you?

She kept me from depression more often than she didn't.

And tried to keep you from a stable resource for your mental health, too. By your own admission.

She thought you weren't that...great a person.

And I haven't a positive opinion of her, either. But I never tried to influence you away from her. Especially not when it put your health at risk.

I am sorry for your losses, Billy. But I will do whatever I can to ensure you keep your head above the water here.

Just keep reminding me that magic isn't a solution to this.

You know that it isn't. Difficult to technically quantify magic, right? Just imagine the many horrifying ways a reactive impulse mixed with magic could turn out.
