No, it's not Hannibal. It's a girl named Lourdes Hidalgo. She's taken control of the Hotel de Palais and is forcing everyone to stay and "have a good time."

She controls body movements. If we try to leave, she makes us walk right back in. People who disagree have had their mouths sealed shut and disappeared. I'm uncertain where she's keeping them captive.

I'm fine, though. I made friendly introductions and will continue to befriend our captor throughout this experience. But I needed to let you know where I was before you became terribly concerned.

I should contact this woman, and negotiate. Her inclination towards literally puppeteering you is quite blatantly psychologically unhinged. I imagine she would not appreciate the inclusion of the police.

Do you believe there is a severe risk? If I contacted her directly? A risk to you.

I am relieved you jump to that conclusion first rather than the most dire one.

If you contacted her and said I was in touch with you? Then yes. I would be at risk. She's made it very clear that she does not want us reaching out to others.

However. I'm not the only person here that you happen to know. Dorian Gray and Bela are also captives. There are a few other imPorts here as well. Harry Hart. Billy Kaplan. Jinseok Jin. If you can spin it in a way that doesn't implicate me as the one who contacted you, I believe you might be able to reason with her. Or at least find out what motivates her psychologically.

[He pauses between texts, his heart thundering. It was nerve-needling, to think that someone had his Raina. Captive. Without him. And while the situation did not seem particularly dire immediately, Chilton couldn't trust that status quo to maintain. He knew better.]

I spoke with her briefly. She's spoiled and demanding. She thinks everyone should be having fun, but doesn't seem to feel that joy herself if the strained smiles and cold distance are anything to go by. She acts as though she's above everyone here, and she expects me to make about three bouquets for every room in the hotel.

Every. Room.

[ Raina will do it, of course. But it will be an exhausting affair. She hasn't made that many flowers since the whole famine event. ]

She claims herself as the hotel's new manager and has little regard for the exhaustion of the staff she's surrounded herself with. That's, unfortunately, about all I know at this time.

Control issues. Blatant control issues. Typical such a showcasing would demonstrate the effect of cognitive dissonance provoked because of a reaction to some unspoken trauma, but quite obviously I would have to analyze her personally before committing to such a theory.
