[There's a few moments, before Chilton proceeds. In most any other worldly context, the use "telepathically" would indicate some delusional issue with Thomas's logic. But in this dimension? It was a confession of power.]

I see. Well it would do best to have a control -- meaning, if you knew Holiday's thought patterns before the incident, for comparison's sake. Lacking that, you should probably take as much data for your sample as possible, and from that you need to profile him. You would have to determine any outlier logic that is incongruent to his psychological profile.

sorry for the hold up. it's better if you just look over the transcript i'm attaching. probably gonna make more sense than me trying to explain it.

[ he's attaching a file that has this conversation written in it word for word, copied down with HOLIDAY, QUISMA or THOMAS written next to who says what. he's about to let the mirrornet know about it as well, given seeing holiday looking wrecked at the swear-in had him deciding it was enough time waiting on it. ]

No need to apologize, Thomas, none at all. This is quite interesting. Holiday must have been relieved to have been contacted by you, his lack of chronological awareness implies that he had been isolated quite a lot. Sometimes even the comatose report awareness, after awakening, but this doesn't seem to indicate any similarity with Holiday.

I would guess he was not meant to recover from being "locked in", if you don't mind the terminology.

yeah, i only really understood pieces of what he was saying. he said there was something dangerous about... being in his head? i guess? unless he skipped to something else. but i never really got that figured out. [ he was sort of rapid firing questions at him, so that's thomas's bad, really. most people just get the urge to strangle him for it. ]

Dangerous for whom, I wonder? And under what circumstance? Does Quisma need a host body, or is he Holiday's life support?

Either way, this is surely traumatic for the Captain. He is earnest in his communication, but it's difficult to gauge how accurate his logic is.

the way it sounded was mutual life support, but i dont know. quisma seemed sincere enough, but it was hard to dig any further.

holiday didn't seem like the kind of guy to waste time bullshitting, but yeah, it's hard to tell what to really trust in that. you think there's any kind of import healing that could help him?

Does he think that's a sound solution? I imagine he would have suggested himself. Then again, this is a situation of great duress for him.

He doesn't spare much attention to his handlers.

yeah, guess he would have. import powers is the best we have right now, though. if they can't do anything to help, i don't know who can.

the people keeping him locked up? no, he didn't say anything about them, outside of the fact we shouldn't try breaking him out. i get the idea this is more a prison sentence than psychiatric help.

Did you get the feeling that he was worried about being overheard? In his own mind? I find it remarkable that he had nothing else to say about the government. His own people.

yeah, sort of. the 'it's dangerous' part makes more sense, but what's that mean? the government has a way into his thoughts? or was it quisma he was worried about?

I see reason for both, but the fact he worded it so ambiguously -- surely he's more afraid of the government intervening that Quisma doing something? After all, Quisma is somewhat dependent on Holiday as a host.

Who knows if possession is a painless process for the specter.

yeah. quisma seems like the lesser threat. i mean, if all it takes is pinning a diagnosis of him and locking him up like this to get rid of him, how scary is that?

a while back, when it first came out, and went and listened in on what was going on with the guards on the cap canaveral base. they seemed like they didn’t expect he was coming back.

i don't know yet. there's a lot i don't know and all we have is quisma's word on it. i don't know what he's capable of.

but either way, holiday needs to get help. it's not his fault this is happening to him.

Of any imPorts with the ability to pull a consciousness out of someone, I only know Billy Kaplan. But I'm not even sure if that is indeed how you want to help Holiday.
