[ Freddie had come to her for a reason all those months ago. That serial killer couldn't have gotten to her, could he? He wasn't in any shape to do that last time she checked. ]

What did the coroner say? What day was this?

I got the call the morning of the 28th. She -- her body. Showed signs of severe throat lacerations.

Where's this coroner's office located?

[ Her mind races in too many directions at once. She presses a hand to her temple, sighing loudly. ]

Damn it. Lounds might have been a pain in the neck, but she didn't deserve that.

I thought the nanites in our bodies were supposed to revive us. Why didn't it...?

[ But that isn't a question directed at Chilton and for that she quickly adds: ] Sorry, Doc. This is a lot to process.

Some don't get revived. Like Lunatic. [Like Gideon.] It's almost a roulette.

Her body was found in De Chima -- that's the district of the coronor's laboratory. I did not see the body before it... Vanished.

Do you have any idea who could have done this to her? She was nobody's favorite, but if there was anyone in particular, like Abel Gideon. Although, looking at the ID tags on the network shows his is offline, too.

She was my favorite. [Too defensively spoken? He clears his throat.] One of them. I --

[And then, defenses lowered, he hears that name. Abel Gideon.]

I haven't seen Abel Gideon around for some time. He was a bit of a recluse. I haven't seen her boyfriend, either. Saul Goodman?

I know he wasn't exactly able to get around either.

[ But he's still suspicious. Freddie had come to her for a reason then.

It's hard to fight back the creeping suspicion this might be her fault. ]

That name is offline, too. Is there anyone else who was in regular contact with her or had some kind of ongoing spat?

[ She pauses again, latching onto Chilton's previous comment. ]

... Doc, I'm sorry. I know you owe her a lot.

There's Kaidan. Kaidan Alenko. He's a patient of mine, though his therapeutic record is spotty. We spoke about Freddie a few times. It seems that their relationship was a complicated one, and soaked in miscommunication.

[A beat.]

I don't know if I would call it spat territory, but they seemed to have slept together.

So... what, you think Alenko got clingy afterwards?

He's a romantic. Freddie was not.

[boobwindow]

That's a big accusation to make, Doc.

[slightlyoffchilt]

I'm only reciting my observations.

He confided in me during a session. [Which was held in a bar, very professional.] Presumably no one else knows.

Alenko didn't have a regular therapy schedule. Unless there's an enforced mandate, willing participation is solely up to the patient.

It isn't uncommon, among imPorts. But I've noticed that my more... Impulsive patients tend to engage therapy only sporadically. Statistically speaking.

No follow-up, is that it? I guess I can't say I'm that surprised.

[ Discussing feelings is hard. ]

In Alenko's case, how problematic is this to his therapy?

I didn't find it necessary for him to conclusively engage consecutive sessions -- he's very good, you know, he's very good at creating a nonthreatening persona. When the initial diagnosis involves mild anxiety and a fear of loneliness, well, doesn't that seem normal?

It might have been exactly what he wanted to seem.

I'll talk to him, though I don't want to rule out Abel Gideon just yet either. The timing of his disappearance could be coincidence, but...

[ Ugh. ]

Talk about unlucky.

[He takes a brief pause, contemplating. The only way to isolate Gideon as a variable was to control one half of the equation.]

I know that Will Graham is doing an independent investigation. Maybe you both could team up? I know he could use the -- well. [A beat.] Abigail Hobbs was recently ported out, too. Will is hardly in a stable state of mind, he will require some coaxing.

But you must know that his work is [excellent] greatly recommended.

Alright, I'll talk with him, too. I'll check back her old entries to the network and see if there's anyone who might have made good on their threats.

[ She runs a hand through her hair. ]

[Chilton is, nevertheless, unused to processing loss. His appreciation is sincere.]
