- IC CONTACT POST FOR MASKORMENACE -

"Hello.
You've reached the direct line of Doctor Frederick Chilton. As I am not available at the moment, you might assume I'm quite busy with something pressing. State your name and business, and I will return your call."

[ And she would. Chilton deserved to be in the same position as her. Chilton deserved to have this ace up his sleeve as well. Raina smiled, halting her massage so that he could have her hand. ]
Lucifer considers Sam his and became very upset with me in his own way [ Subtly, but she had certainly noticed ] when I hinted that I had moved into a position of trust with him. Sam is to be his vessel, someone who has been prepped since birth to host his essence. There were blood rituals. Sam's mother herself had to feed Sam the blood of a demon as a babe in order to get this process started. And from there on, he must consume more demon blood. It's all so archaic and quite frankly, disgusting. But demon rituals. There's almost always blood and sacrifice involved.
[ And that was what she knew. Her knowledge was his knowledge. And vice versa since Chilton revealed he knew who the third ringbearer had been. ]
So it was Jeff who held War? [ She laughed faintly. ] Isn't it funny? The three of us entwined once again. Did he accept the ring or was it forced upon him?

Except for Sam Winchester.]
Demons have always been symbolic of human consciousness. Jungian, at worst perhaps, but nothing much more. Almost ironic that elements of his power are so elemental to his resurrection -- in a sense. I mean. [A beat.] We discussed vessels in concept.
[Another beat.]
We have to make Sam our leverage.

She took his hand and brought it down to her lap, the fingers of her other hand caressing his arm as she leaned her head against his shoulder. ]
Sam will be ours. Everything will be to our advantage. And speaking of advantages, that brings me to the other thing I wanted to talk to you about.
[ She tipped her chin to look up at him. ]
Matthew Lin. When Lucifer gave me the ring, he told me he would send his minion to assist me. Who gives me a call shortly thereafter? None other than your little patient. Turns out he's a demon, made a deal with the devil and became his lackey. And he is also tasked to aid Crane, but while he does what he's told, Matthew Lin absolutely hates the man. I don't know the circumstances, but I do know Matthew was also subjected to Crane's toxin. Matthew even requested that Crane became the first recipient of one of my bouquets.
[ Raina laughed a little at the thought. ]
Now, Matthew does go by another name. But I'm not so sure I should speak it aloud. He implied he heard me repeat it back to Lucifer. I don't know if he could simply hear the conversation because he has some sort of channel between himself and Lucifer or if he's attuned to his name. But you know. Better safe than sorry. And I want you to have all the advantages when it comes to dealing with him, babe.
[ Raina kissed the side of his mouth softly before getting up and finding a sheet of paper and a pen. Then, she jotted down Abduxel -- which could have had alternate spellings and random silent letters because demons were strange like that. But she spelled it like it sounded and returned to the bed at once, handing it over to Chilton. ]
Fortunately, I believe he's pursuing you out of his own interest and not out of orders from either Lucifer or Crane. If you have to fuck him to get him on our side and away from Lucifer, loathe as I am to think of anyone else in your embrace without me present -- in this scenario, it's to our advantage.

And another.]
Oh my god. Matthew Lin is a demon.
[This in the light of such intimate conflict. The psychoanalysis, the touching, the engagement -- Chilton thought he had graduated from that mistake, however minor it was compared to Hannibal's masquerade. But Matthew had been so elegant, so charming, just like Hannibal Lecter had been. Traits that Chilton admired.
Traits that he compulsively imitated.]
So we won't speak it.
[He looked at the piece of paper she had written the demon's name upon; so this was how Matthew understood the nuanced trickery of speaking Lucifer's name, and the mystical consequence inherent. This was how. Chilton took the piece of paper, along with Raina's kiss, and clenched the name within his palm.
Abduxel.]
Names have a natural psychological resonance. Consciousness is arguably a search for identity -- and what is more raw, more vulnerable, than how we want to be perceived?
[Spoken a touch hollowly, even if the logic was sincere. Chilton would have to digest this demonic Lin business at a later time.]
I -- [Chilton committed a doubled take, looking back at his girlfriend with starkly widened eyes.]
I plan to take additional precautions with Mr. Lin from hence on.
[He leaned his shoulder against hers, his hand moving to stroke at her neck, her collarbone.]

Good.
[ But she thought Chilton should have been taking those additional precautions in the first place. Raina had always suspected Abduxel's motivations from the very moment Chilton confessed his fake name as the other party in his tryst. Maybe Chilton was content to be complacent in his arrogance and desirability, maybe he was content to be blind for the sake of a little ego stroking. But where her lover was concerned, Raina couldn't afford that same blindness. She had to protect him for her own selfish reasons of not wanting to lose him. ]
Matthew is arrogant and foolish, but he can be dangerous if you allow him to be.
[ Raina closed her eyes, letting out a soft breath of enjoyment at the touches -- the attention. She was pliant and responsive, leaning in to his touch. ]
I also believe he thinks he's above humanity. It wasn't until I confessed I wasn't human that we actually seemed to have a conversation worthwhile. I planted the seed of individuality and potential to do so many great things away from the devil deep within him. And I'm certain you're the best candidate to water that and make it grow -- let it become the beautiful weed that chokes out his loyalty.

[Hardly a criticism of the masses, since Chilton was including himself in that collective superiority complex -- but it was a typical fact of the ego, wasn't it? Identity naturally intertwined with worth. The danger lay with those who couldn't see their value reflected in their name. Chilton inclined his head, his eyes solely absorbed in her face. It was beautiful, how she leaned into him. The way she reacted.
Simply gorgeous.]
I'll handle him with propriety. [It was a reassurance, a promise.] But for now -- in this particular moment? [His hand stroked lower down her body -- while his fingers served ill for surgical endeavors, they nevertheless possessed other talents.]
I'd rather just enjoy my lovely company.
