The major doesn't like me. Because she's a crazy person. But. I don't like things messing up Will's life. And things that mess up your life do that. So...

[She made a dismissive gesture with one hand.]

What makes you think the Major General is, in your own words, a "crazy person"?

[He latches onto that because it's bait, yes, and while it's bait he recognizes, he still wants to take it.]

[There is a chance this full report will go to the major- which, really, just adds incentive for April to go off the rails here. Still, he gets a look. Not the worst she could do- they weren't talking about Will's feelings for now, he was close to winning that prize!- but still. Nice subject change.]

She's got control issues. It's a...pathology thing, right? When people try to control things that aren't their business.

That's a curious assertion, April. [Always playing the devil's advocate, that Chilton.] Considering how you are subjecting yourself to specifically her business. Aren't you? Given your disdain for her authority, your entry into RISE might be... Uncomfortable.

[But he had already alluded to the fact that he would give her a pass -- perhaps he was even more adamant now, knowing her potential for conflict.]
