- IC CONTACT POST FOR MASKORMENACE -

"Hello.
You've reached the direct line of Doctor Frederick Chilton. As I am not available at the moment, you might assume I'm quite busy with something pressing. State your name and business, and I will return your call."

[Chilton set down the notebook, finally walking over to examine Abduxel's handiwork in close proximity.]
Raina won't like the house detail, and you know she won't. We might have to compromise there. Why can't I carry around a compact mirror? Wouldn't that have the same effect?
no subject
But when he asks about a compact mirror, he barks a Hah!, and looks at him incredulously.]
A compact mirror?
[He looks down at himself illustratively.]
You think I'd fit? [His demeanor, previously irritated, had shifted almost entirely into the realm of amused. A little capricious, maybe, or easily distracted.] Look, we'll hide a floor-length mirror in a closet, or something, then, but you'll have to yell to it if you need me from another room. For what it's worth, I'd advise telling her such that she can make use of it, too.
no subject
[Delivered rather dryly.]
I mean more for the sake of communication -- these devices we've been given aren't necessarily the more foolproof of options, wouldn't you agree? I wouldn't trust the Network with our breed of secrets.
As for your transport, well. It would be better in my study, if anything.
no subject
Anyway, yes. We can speak through a little mirror. Of course, then I'll really know what your arguments are about, when you drop my name during.
Do you have a compact handy? Or are you going to write my sigil yourself?
no subject
[A remark made upon sly lips.]
I don't have a compact mirror on hand, no. I'll have to mimic your drawing -- with blood, I suppose. I'm sure that won't raise eyebrows.
no subject
[He goes on:] In any case, people will just think you're carrying it around for Raina. Don't let anyone use it for their makeup. [He laughs a little.]
no subject
[Dry, dry words.]
I assure you, I have no intention of employing something cosmetic. Rest assured that you will be its sole benefactor.
no subject
I suppose that depends where it's moving, doesn't it, Frederick?
[He winks.]
no subject
How often has it worked?
no subject
I'll answer that question in about ten minutes. We're either at four for five, or five for five. That last one is up to you.
[He grins wickedly, taking Chilton's comments as sharp jokes and trying to parry them.]
no subject
Protocols. That are crucial, now.
And that includes fellatio during office hours.
no subject
Is this a protocol for or a protocol against?
no subject
Protocol against. You must know that this hospital has a Human Resources department, and they don't know how inhumane you happen to be. I imagine you'd qualify for their services.
no subject
[He turns then to look at the mirror where he'd written the second sigil, and just goes on:]
Will Raina be at your home this evening?
no subject
[Which is basically Chilton's way of not acknowledging that Abduxel had a point.]
I imagine she will -- haven't I mentioned? We moved out of government housing and in, together.
no subject
I'm not going to report you, Dr. Chilton, to any sort of HR. Cross my heart, and hope to die. [His smile crinkles his eyes, slyly.]
Are you going to write my sigil at home yourself, then? I don't imagine she'd take to it well if I came over. [Casually:] Unless the two of you were still hoping I would join you.
no subject
I thought I had made such an offer before, and found it rebuked. Unless -- have you and her made up?
no subject
But I have no qualms with her, myself. Not since you made your deal. And she is a beautiful woman.
no subject
[Or... demoncide. Whatever the proper term might be.]
She -- yes, she certainly is a beautiful woman.
[He smiled, addressing part of Abduxel's statement.]
no subject
He tucks the knife back way, smiling still.]
It takes more than a little blood-loss to bring me down, Doctor, so extend my apologies to Raina. When my throat was slit, I got back up after a little rest. In any case, dying is not one of my kinks.
[He passes over that tidbit of information so casually. Notably, he has no discernible scars on his neck.]
For the record, I'm giving you a proposition, not offering a deal. So why don't you just picture it a while, and let me know if you're feeling inspired.
