So this individual who investigated you just outright told you that Freddie had been murdered?

Obviously I'm not worried about you telling people. You were a suspect -- allegedly. You wouldn't want that leaking.

[But those who were muttering about Freddie's death (to include Kaidan's source -- and to include Chilton himself, who had told Chimera and Power Girl! -- were corrosive to the chances of catching a killer.]

Do you know about the details, then? The autopsy?

No, nothing. I just know that she passed.

[ A sad sigh. He's not exactly been talking about it to...anyone. ]

This population tends to think it is immune to loss, because we have the possibility of resurrection.

It's easy to feel immortal, if you can come back from the dead, right? I mean, I can't...blame them.

But it's not exactly a guarantee, either.

But not everyone does come back from the dead. People tend to ignore that inconvenient fact -- which is curious, don't you think? As you noted, it's not a guarantee.

You'd think more imPorts would take death seriously.

Well, some of them are superheroes, right? I don't think people were ever really... that cautious about life and limb -- at least where I'm from.

So this just adds another layer to that, right? Makes people feel invincible.

How discouraging. Foolhardy thinking is not to be admired.

Well, no, but... I don't know, people tend to do that, if they think they can get away with it, and there's proof here that they can, right? That's enough of an incentive.

Which is perhaps an irrational impulse of the populace at whole. If only there were a way to educate the masses.
